From Sweden's High Coast to the mountains of the world

Emelie grew up in Noraström in Kramfors Municipality, on Sweden's High Coast. She first saw herself as a climber, and started running in the mountains purely for the joy of it. She ran her first serious trail race in 2009 and quickly became one of the best in the world at technical mountain distances. Her ski mountaineering career began in 2012, when she entered a race on borrowed skis and finished third.

She lives in Måndalen in Rauma, Norway, with her partner Kilian Jornet and their two daughters, born in 2019 and 2021. The family runs a small farm with a focus on self-sufficiency.
